02The company

A trading house built around the parts of the job nobody advertises.

Anyone can quote a price on a container. The work that decides whether your project runs on time is the bank permit, the pre-shipment inspection, the HS classification, the demurrage clock at Djibouti and the truck that has to be at Kality on a Thursday.

4,200m²

Bonded warehouse at Kality

Zenvira Crossway Trading PLC was founded in Addis Ababa in 2011 by three trade-finance and clearing professionals who were tired of watching good orders stall in paperwork. We hold a general import/export licence, operate a 4,200 m² bonded warehouse near Kality, and run our own fleet of six prime movers on the Djibouti corridor. Today a team of forty-two serves contractors, manufacturers, retail chains and export cooperatives.

Our mandate
To be the counterparty an Ethiopian business can plan around — transparent on cost, exact on timing, and accountable when something goes wrong.
01Landed cost, not list price
Every quote itemises FOB, freight, duty, VAT, clearing and inland transport. No line arrives later.
02One named owner per file
A single trade officer carries your order end to end and is reachable by phone, not a ticket queue.
03Fully licensed and bonded
MoTRI licence, ERCA-registered clearing agent, and bonded storage under customs supervision.
Milestones
  1. 2011

    Founded in Bole

Three partners, one clearing desk and a borrowed pickup. First file: 40 t of reinforcement bar.

  2. 2014

    First direct coffee contract

Three containers of washed Yirgacheffe to a roaster in Trieste, contracted without an intermediary.

  3. 2016

    Kality warehouse commissioned

1,800 m² of bonded storage under customs supervision, the first of two phases.

  4. 2019

    Own fleet on the corridor

Four prime movers put on the Djibouti road, cutting average port-to-gate time by nine days.

  5. 2022

    ISO 9001 and phase two

Warehouse extended to 4,200 m² and the quality management system certified.

  6. 2025

    Forty-first partner country

First turnkey machinery supply delivered: a 60 m³/h batching plant, installed and commissioned.

03Services

Six services. One file, one owner, one invoice.

Take the whole chain or any single link. Clients who only need clearing get clearing; clients who want the container handed over at their gate get that instead.

  • 01

    Sourcing

Three vetted quotations against your specification, with the trade-offs written down.

We hold standing relationships with 180 mills, foundries and factories across Asia, the Gulf, Türkiye and Europe. You send a spec — or a photograph of what broke — and we come back with three options, each with origin, factory audit status, lead time and landed cost. Where a cheaper origin carries a real risk, we say so in the same email.

    What it covers

    • Supplier audit file before any deposit moves
    • Three origins compared on landed cost, not FOB
    • Sample shipment by air before a full container
    • Factory inspection report with photographs
    180Vetted suppliers
  • 02

    Import & Customs Clearance

Bank permit, declaration and duty settlement — handled by our own licensed agents.

We are a registered clearing agent, not a broker who subcontracts the hard part. That means we classify the HS heading ourselves, defend it if it is queried, and carry the demurrage risk when a container sits. Clients see a single clearance timeline with the documents named: permit, bill of lading, packing list, certificate of origin, declaration.

    What it covers

    • HS classification and tariff opinion in writing
    • Bank permit and LC/TT handling with your bank
    • ERCA declaration, duty and VAT settlement
    • Demurrage and port-storage risk carried by us
    9.2Average days, port to gate
  • 03

    Export Facilitation

Washing station to foreign roaster: grading, ECX, certificates and the FOB contract.

For cooperatives and private suppliers we take the lot from cup score to letter of credit. That covers ECX or direct-specialty routing, Coffee and Tea Authority clearance, phytosanitary and fumigation certificates, container stuffing supervision at Kality, and the documentary credit presentation your buyer bank will actually accept first time.

    What it covers

    • ECX lot registration or direct specialty contracts
    • ECTA, phytosanitary and fumigation certificates
    • Container stuffing supervised and photographed
    • LC document set checked before presentation
    31Export destinations
  • 04

    Warehousing

4,200 m² bonded and general storage at Kality, racked, insured and inventoried.

Bonded storage under customs supervision lets you clear in stages and pay duty as you draw stock, instead of financing a whole shipment on day one. Racking takes 1,100 pallet positions, the yard holds twelve 40-foot containers, and every movement is logged against your reference so a stock count never becomes an argument.

    What it covers

    • Customs-bonded and general storage in one yard
    • 1,100 pallet positions, 12 container hardstand
    • Stock report with photographs, weekly
    • All-risk insurance to replacement value
    4,200m² under roof
  • 05

    Logistics Coordination

Six prime movers of our own on the Djibouti corridor, plus contracted capacity on call.

Owning trucks changes the conversation at the port: when a vessel discharges early we move, rather than joining a queue for third-party capacity. Flat-bed, skeletal and tipper configurations, GPS on every unit, and a dispatcher who calls you the hour a container leaves Doraleh — not the day after it arrives.

    What it covers

    • Own fleet: 6 prime movers, flat-bed and skeletal
    • Contracted partner capacity for peak weeks
    • GPS tracking shared with the consignee
    • Abnormal-load permits and escort arranged
    6Prime movers in fleet
  • 06

    Quality Inspection

Pre-shipment inspection at origin, so a rejection happens there and not at Kality.

Every order above a threshold gets an independent pre-shipment inspection: quantity verified, marks and numbers checked against the packing list, samples drawn and tested, and the container sealed in front of our inspector. You get the report with photographs before the vessel sails, which is the only point at which a problem is still cheap.

    What it covers

    • Independent PSI at origin by an accredited body
    • Mill and batch certificates verified, not just filed
    • Sealed container photographed before departure
    • Discrepancy report issued within 48 hours
    98.4% accepted on first delivery
